Vegan “Nutella” (gluten-free, nut-free)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sunflower or pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup cocoa or carob powder*
  • 4 tbsp olive oil**
  • 2/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup organic soy or almond milk**
  • 1 pinch of salt 1/4 tsp vanilla

Method

Blend all ingredients in your food processor. It’s ready to eat.

*Jacynthe prefers to use carob powder due to its nutritional value. Carob is a fruit that once roasted and ground, it tastes just like cocoa powder. It is rich in essential minerals (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, silica, iron).

** Note from Julie: I have replaced the oil or milk with applesauce several times. It’s delicious!
